Product Description

  • Composition:

Per tablet:
Praziquantel 50 mg, pyrantel (embonate) 50 mg, febantel 150 mg, excipient q.s. ad 1 tablet.

·        Mechanism of Action:

Praziquantel is an internal antiparasitic of cestocidal activity.
Praziquantel alters the parasitic integument making it permeable to excessive glucose loss and facilitating the attack of proteolytic enzymes.
It also affects the motility and anchoring organs of the cestode (induces spastic paralysis of the parasite by interfering with the mechanisms of contractility, as well as the transport of regulatory ions through the myofibrils of the parasite).
Pyrantel is an internal antiparasitic of the tetrahydropyrimidine group. It acts by producing a depolarizing blockade in the neuromuscular plate of the parasite with spastic paralysis.
Febantel is an oral internal antiparasitic probenzimidazole. It produces its effect on helminths influencing the uptake of nutrients. It affects the activity of the enzyme fumarate reductase, which leads to a reduction in glycogen that causes death by starvation of the parasite.

·     Indications of use:

Treatment of the main intestinal parasitoses of dogs produced by the following parasites: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, Taenia hydatigena, Dipylidium caninum.

·   Dosage and route of administration:

In general, the dosage is 5 mg praziquantel, 5 mg pyrantel (embonate) and 15 mg febantel per kg b.w. (equivalent to 1 tablet/10 kg b.w.).

*Puppies and small dogs:

1/2-2 kg b.w.: 1/4 tablet.
2-5 kg b.w.: 1/2 tablet.
5-10 kg b.w.: 1 tablet.

*Medium dogs:

10-20 kg b.w.: 2 tablets.
20-30 kg b.w.: 3 tablets.

*Large dogs:

30-40 kg b.w.: 4 tablets.
• It is not necessary to exceed 4 tablets in dogs weighing more than 40 kg.• For routine deworming of the dog, a single treatment is necessary.
This will be repeated every three months as a routine control. In areas with high rA repeated dose may be administered 14 days after the first treatment. This repetition of treatment is necessary, especially in areas where intermediate hosts such as fleas, mice etc. have not been eliminated

·        Interactions and incompatibilities:

• Do not administer with cholinergic drugs or with anticholinergic properties, as they can enhance their toxicity.
• Do not administer simultaneously with piperazine compounds.

  • Precautions and contraindications:
  • Do not administer to extremely weakened animals.
    • Do not use during the first four weeks of pregnancy.
  • Side effects:

The most common presenting adverse effects were anorexia, lethargy, diarrhoea and vomiting.

  • Storage methods:

Do not store above 25 °C

  • Presentation:

Box with 25 blisters of 10 tablets.

  • Manufacturer:
