One of the most effective ways to fight against parasites is deworming. Vermic Total tablet is a strong broad-spectrum antiparasitic to control mature and immature forms of various types of intestinal worms, including nematodes and cestodes.

Product Description

  • Composition:

Per tablet:
Praziquantel 50 mg, pyrantel (pamoate) 144 mg, febantel 150 mg, excipient q.s. ad 1 tablet.

·        Mechanism of Action:

Praziquantel is an internal antiparasitic of cestocidal activity.
Praziquantel alters the parasitic integument making it permeable to excessive glucose loss and facilitating the attack of proteolytic enzymes.
It also affects the motility and anchoring organs of the cestode (induces spastic paralysis of the parasite by interfering with the mechanisms of contractility, as well as the transport of regulatory ions through the myofibrils of the parasite).
Pyrantel is an internal antiparasitic of the tetrahydropyrimidine group. It acts by producing a depolarizing blockade in the neuromuscular plate of the parasite with spastic paralysis.
Febantel is an oral internal antiparasitic probenzimidazole. It produces its effect on helminths influencing the uptake of nutrients. It affects the activity of the enzyme fumarate reductase, which leads to a reduction in glycogen that causes death by starvation of the parasite.

·        Indications of use:

Wide spectrum anti-endoparasitic for dogs and felines, adults and puppies/kittens with activity against mature and immature forms of the following nematodes and cestodes:

Nematodes:

Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonine(adult and immature) , Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum(adult and immature), Trichuris vulpis(adult and immature)

Cestodes:

Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis

Taenia hydatigena, Taenia psiformis

Dipylidium caninum(adult and immature).

·        Dosage and route of administration:

1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight.

For adults the treatment should be repeated every 3 months. In females, before mating and 10 days after labor, in order to reduce infestation in puppies/kittens.

VERMIC TOTAL is very well tolerated.

It is not necessary to take dietary measures, or suppress feed.

VERMIC TOTAL can be directly administered in a piece of meat or other food product, or ground and mixed with the feed.

·        Interactions and incompatibilities:

• The product must not be used concomitantly with other vermifuges with cholinergic properties, such as levamisol, as it may remarkably potentiate this activity produced by the Pyrantel Pamoate.
• Do not use simultaneously with piperazine compounds.

  • Precautions and contraindications:

Until studies are not performed in female dogs during their early pregnancy, VERMIC TOTAL must not be used during the two first thirds of pregnancy.

  • Storage methods:

Store at room temperature (less than 30 °C).

Box with 12 blisters of 10 tablets.
